About MRT
Meadows Race Team, the premier alpine ski racing program on Mount Hood, trains hundreds of young aspiring athletes each year, helping them to realize their goals while teaching important life lessons of commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship and sense of community.
It is MRT's Philosophy that:
"It takes great skiers to become great racers"
And why we strive to put the FUN in FUNdamentals as we develop well-rounded athletes that have a life-long love of the sport of alpine skiing.
MRT, through it’s coaching staff, administration and family community, takes great pride in developing well-rounded athletes that have a life-long love of the sport of alpine skiing no matter what the end-result is.
Nine Values of MRT and It’s Athletes
•Honesty •Respect •Responsibility •Judgment •Confidence •Courtesy •Integrity •Perseverance •Sportsmanship
We pursue teaching these values to the athletes on and off of the mountain as well as in and out of competition.
Group Sizes and Dynamics
We strive for an athlete/coach ratio of about 8 to 1.
Depending on the group ability, group age, etc., it will be adjusted accordingly.
Groups are put together by assessing many factors that can create fun and productive skiing and training.
These factors are:
•Age Group •SPEED •Ability •Gender •Friends/Family •Group Dynamics
